| According to a 2005 report
by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, there
are about 16 toy-related deaths each year involving
children under the age of 15, and over 200,000
toy-related injuries. |
| March 2006: Magnetix
magnetic building sets |
| One child died and four others suffered
serious injuries after swallowing tiny magnets
found in Magnetix building sets sold worldwide.
On March 31, 2006, the Consumer Product Safety
Commission announced a recall of 3.8 million
of the toy kits. The commission said it has
received reports of 34 incidents involving
the small magnets included in the building
sets, including the X-treme Combo, Micro and
Extreme versions. |
