          Cuauhtemoc Tingwall died of asphyxiation at Kindred Hospital Modesto in January after his chest became wedged between his bed and a side rail, a Stanislaus County coroner's official said Tuesday. Deputy Coroner Misty Leach said his death was accidental, based on the autopsy and coroner's inquiry into his Jan. 15 death. Because he was a paraplegic, Tingwall was unable to free himself from the bedrails, the report says.
          Tingwall, 44, of Clayton, was in the 17th Street long-term acute care hospital recovering from extensive injuries suffered in a near-fatal vehicle crash near Tracy in October. He often was confused because his head injuries and he had lost use of his legs, but he was improving and was three days from being moved to a Marin County facility to start rehabilitation, friends said.
